Character Information

Name: Ronald Knox
Age: early 20s in appearance, who knows how old
Fandom: Kuroshitsuji, manga.
Appearance: Picture. Ron's fairly average height, with blond and black two-tone hair and odd two-colored green eyes (ringed irises, bright green on the outer ring, darker green next to the pupil). He's also (like all reapers) incredibly nearsighted, and wears thick-rimmed glasses. The odd eye color is the only thing that marks him as a reaper, and he'll be keeping that (and his nearsightedness) when he's turned human.
History: Kuroshitsuji manga, not anime
Canon Point: Chapter 64, after the sinking of the Campania
Personality: At first glance, Ronald Knox is a charming, friendly young man. He's something of a flirt, striking up conversations with strangers, casually promising dates to ladies he's never met, always ready with a smile and a quick remark.

However, "charming" does not mean "nice".

Ronald Knox is not a nice person.

Reapers are not human (even if they were at one point, canon hasn't exactly made clear where reapers come from). Ron in particular seems to view humans as from a position of superiority, watching and interacting with them, but for his own amusement rather than because of any connection to humanity. He spends three days with the third-class passengers on the Campania (a ship that was basically "the Titanic hit an iceberg because of a zombie outbreak on board), and on the night of the zombie outbreak, Ron leaves his drinking buddies belowdecks, responding to a request to meet again tomorrow with a casual "If we meet alive, that is". Ron knew beforehand that the people were going to die, and his only reaction to their deaths is to complain about the extra work.

Ron does his job quickly and efficiently, but he's not so in love with his work that he's okay with having to work overtime. The Campania mission is an overtime mission that Ron is forced to work with Grell, and he complains about it more than once. It's not that he dislikes his job (he is, after all, a reaper, and reapers exist for their job), but he doesn't like being accused of making mistakes, or taking blame for things that he did not do. He likes it when things go according to plan, and while he seems pretty good at making things up on the fly, he doesn't like other people intentionally messing things up.

He's also young for a reaper, a fact he brings up when he wants to comment on how the other reapers are old and stuck in his ways. In contrast to that, Ron prides himself on his flexibility and willingness to change (for example, using a butterfly knife in a fight in addition to his death scythe). He's somewhat flashy and dramatic (though not as dramatic as Grell), and he seems to enjoy irony and wordplay. Ron's also fairly interested in his appearance, dressing neatly and wearing a flashy watch.

Game Specific

Suitability: Ron is a grim reaper, and so he's used to being involved in violent deaths. He's not innately violent, and he doesn't glory in murder, but he has no problems with killing when necessary. Being turned human is going to cause problems for Ron, since he naturally sees himself as being above and separate from humanity. It's going to make him angry, and drive him to fight back in an attempt to escape.

Weapon: This is his death scythe in canon. It's a lawnmower. I would like to keep his weapon as a lawnmower. No keeping it in hammerspace, no cutting through things a normal lawnmower wouldn't be able to cut through. It would have a pullcord on it, so it could run normally throughout a fight. Because of the loss of his reaper strength, it will be more unwieldy than he's used to.

Samples

Log/Third Person Sample:
A new world, with new people, new levels of technology, and very new rules. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, because a mission would be in and out again quickly, but right now quick and efficient is not an option. No, right now Ron can't get out of this mess he's somehow stumbled into.

America's completely out of the range of the London dispatch, and he's totally going to get behind on his work while wasting time here.

Not to mention that he's weakened here, that his death scythe's been replaced with something way less than what it should be, that he's got no way to contact anyone, and that Sufcliffe's the only other reaper in this whole damn city.

(He won't say "human", won't even let himself think "human", because that's totally wrong, totally impossible. He's a reaper, has been one for as long as he can remember, green eyes and glasses and Records. He is not, cannot, will never be human, can't lower himself to be one of them, short-sighted, short-lived, crawling around in the dust like they actually mean something in the scheme of things.)

Ron's got to figure out what to do next. Working his way up the ranks won't be too hard. After all, he's a reaper, with a reaper's training. He's had years (he might be young, but he's not tied down to a human lifespan) to practice fighting with the weapon he's got to use here, and most of the others are little children compared to him. Sutcliffe's the only one who's gonna be a challenge, but Ron's more resourceful, better in a pinch, and way less likely to get so caught up in bloodlust that he loses track of what he's doing. Yeah, they'll all be chopping-blocks, and Ronald Knox will waltz out of Santa Destroy with the blue ribbon pinned to his bespoke suit.

Second attempt:
Santa Destroy's not all bloodshed and violence, though that's a big part of it. Ronald Knox can adapt easily to bloodshed and violence. What he cannot adapt to so easily is everything that happens between the fights, the long days of hot sun and grating American accents, the long nights of unnatural lights and noise. It makes him sick.

Still, he'll make nice while he's here. He chats with the men and flirts with the ladies and politely shakes hands with small children who think they're older than they are. Ron even lets Sutcliffe show him off like he's the redhead's pet terrier. He behaves, yeah? Nobody's gonna have reason to complain that Ronald Knox did something to hurt them.

Being friendly won't carry him through, or put money in his pockets, and Ron's got to find vantage work or starve. He hasn't moved through the ranks yet, so his options are limited, and the job listing isn't helping. Knocking coconuts out of trees is too much manual labor. Watching cats will probably wind up with one of the little monsters trying to scratch his eyes out. High-paying jobs look like they all involve sex, and he's not so desperate for cash that he'll whore himself out. Everything else needs him up a rank or ten.

So Ronald Knox, high-efficiency reaper of the London Dispatch, starts watching cats. The first old lady's pretty nice, a tiny little thing with a cloud of white hair and paper-thin skin and wrists like bird's bones. By all rights, she shouldn't have a cat that gives Ron more trouble than every demon he's ever met. But she does. The little black-and-white monster screams for an hour and a half, running in frantic circles around the lady's house, tearing up the rugs and putting scratches in the floor. The floor and Ron's face, when he tries to catch the damn thing.

It doesn't help that when he makes a post to the network later that day, Sutcliffe offers him makeup to help cover up the scratches.

Journal Entry/First Person Sample: A 4th wall thread in Facility
A mindfuck meme which is slightly ooc in that he normally wouldn't go after Grell like that, but showcases his more violent and sadistic side.
